Government Lowers Vehicle Taxes, Urges Owners to Pay On Time

Phnom Penh: The General Department of Customs and Excise has announced that it has lowered the vehicle taxes to encourage owners to pay their liabilities until the 31st of December. It has encouraged vehicle owners to take refuge under this new implementation to fulfill their obligations to the government. However, it clarifies that this will not cover the vehicles produced this 2021, only the previous years.

The government has also reminded the owners of right-hand drive vehicles to have their cars changed to left-hand driving, in accordance to the traffic law in Cambodia; otherwise, the vehicles will be destroyed. The General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia has called on all duty-free vehicle owners to voluntarily come to fulfill their tax and import duties in a timely manner to avoid penalties.
